The foundation

Foundational Position Statement

The educational methodology underpinning the Tyneside Accessible Learning Framework.

Accessible learning without lower expectations.

The framework is founded on the principle that equitable education is achieved not by lowering expectations for learners with disability, but by designing learning environments that recognise diversity as a fundamental characteristic of human learning.

Educational planning begins with understanding the individual, identifying existing strengths, recognising barriers to participation and collaboratively designing meaningful learning experiences.

The framework is intended to complement, not replace, existing curriculum, training packages, therapeutic interventions or organisational practices.
